ARIMINO PEACE Wet Oil Compared | Grease, Gelee, Wax and the Whips for Permed Hair
ARIMINO "PEACE" Wet Oil is a styling product that creates a glossy, wet-look texture. The maker explains that all 3 types use a "+Oil" formula that lets you control shape while keeping a wet texture. The difference is the strength of hold and shine.
If unsure
For cohesion and softness, Gelee. For a tight surface and strong shine, Grease. For strong movement without hardening, Wax.
Differences between the 3 types (maker's 5-level scale)

| Grease | 4 | 5 | Free shape lines from tight to loose. Blends in like a gel | 100g ¥2,420 |

Hair condition when applying
The maker directs applying Gelee and Wax to dry hair, and Grease to half-dry to dry hair. The maker says all 3 are "effective in small amounts." With a wet texture, using too much can make hair look wet and not dried, so at our salons we tell people to take a small amount, scrunch it in from the ends, and finally smooth the surface with what is left on their hands. All 3 have an aqua floral scent.

As the maker describes it, Grease allows "free re-styling," and its feature is that the shape is easy to change with your fingers. It suits styles where you want a uniform surface, such as a center part or a tight updo.
For waves and permed hair: 2 Whips
The "Whip" products in the same series are aerated foam styling products. They can be used on half-wet or dry hair; without shaking, keep the container upright and dispense about 2–3 pumps per side into your hand.
| Whip | Maker's description | Our price |
|---|---|---|
| PEACE Light Wax Whip | Non-sticky light wax texture, for defined-strand waves | 250mL ¥2,178 |
| PEACE Bouncy Curl Whip | Soft, bouncy texture, for well-defined curls | 250mL ¥2,178 |
ARIMINO PEACE PRODESIGN Light Wax WhipTax incl. 250mL ¥2,178
ARIMINO PEACE PRODESIGN Bouncy Curl WhipTax incl. 250mL ¥2,178
As a guide, Light Wax if you want defined strands in loose waves, Bouncy Curl if you want clearly defined curls. On days you want a wet texture, you can also shape with a Whip and then layer a little Wet Oil Gelee on the surface.
FAQ
How is it different from gel?
Grease blends into hair like a gel, but the maker explains that its "+Oil" formula keeps a wet texture. Differences between product types are covered in Wax vs. Balm vs. Grease vs. Gel.
How do I wash it out?
The maker's descriptions do not give a special removal method. Wash with your usual shampoo, starting at the scalp.
Which is better, this or a regular wax?
If you prefer a dry texture, PEACE Wax; for a wet-look texture, Wet Oil.
Online store shipping is free for orders of ¥3,980 or more (tax incl.) to Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu (¥440 for Hokkaido and Okinawa).
