ARIMINO MEN Styling Products Compared | Gel, Grease, Balm, Milk and Spray

ARIMINO MEN is ARIMINO's series for men. There are 5 styling products, all with a citrus musk scent. Here we sort them by finish and by the state of the hair you apply them to, based on the maker's descriptions.

If you're not sure

For shine and a long-lasting shape, choose the Gel; for a tight look with a wet shine, the Grease; for a light, natural shine, the Balm; for piecey texture or curls on longer hair, the Milk. Use the Spray to lock in the finish.

Differences between the 5 types

Product Maker's description Hair to apply to Our price
Freeze Keep Gel Doesn't set immediately and isn't sticky. A glossy style with movement. Combines the easy shaping of a wax with the washability and hold of a gel Half-wet to dry hair 200g ¥2,200
Freeze Keep Grease Strong hold without going crunchy. A wet shine. Keeps tight styles in place Half-dry to dry hair 100g ¥2,200
Hard Balm Contains 97% naturally derived ingredients. A natural shine without heaviness. Mainly for short to medium hair Dry hair 60g ¥2,750
Hard Milk Moderate piecey texture and a wet look. A "slow-drying formula" whose hold builds over time Dry hair 100g ¥2,200
Hard Spray A hard hold that keeps the texture you created even on humid or windy days All over as a finish 160g ¥1,980

Gel vs. grease

Both give shine, but the maker describes the gel as "a glossy look with movement" and the grease as "a wet shine" for tight styles. As a guide, choose the gel if you push your bangs up and want movement at the ends, and the grease if you want a smooth, neat surface such as a side part or slicked-back style. The maker explains that the gel combines "the easy shaping of a wax" with "the washability of a gel."

Balm and milk

Hard Balm melts easily at skin temperature and spreads well, so warming it in your palms before applying helps it blend into the hair. Hard Milk doesn't set right away and its hold builds over time, so even with longer hair you can adjust the shape partway through styling.

For the scalp: More Charge Spray

ARIMINO MEN More Charge Spray
ARIMINO MEN More Charge Spray | Tax incl. 90g ¥2,200

More Charge Spray is not a styling product but a massage lotion for the scalp. After shampooing or before styling, spray an appropriate amount over the whole scalp from a short distance (about one second per pump as a guide) and work it in with your palms. The maker explains that massaging with the popping carbonated (propellant) foam leaves the scalp feeling refreshed.

FAQ

Can women use them too?

It is a men's series, but the maker's descriptions do not list anyone who cannot use them.

How do I wash it out?

For the gel, the maker mentions "the washability of a gel." For all of them, wash with your usual shampoo, starting from the scalp.
