Little Scientist Series Compared: ToiToiToi, GALBA, Mu Scalp, ReKERA and Asian Moon

Little Scientist is a maker of hair care sold through hair salons. Each series focuses on a different concern. In this article, we introduce the differences between the 5 series we carry.

ToiToiToi | For hair bothered by frizz and waves

ToiToiToi is a series Little Scientist developed as "hair texture care." It is aimed at people who find their hair hard to manage because of frizz and waves. All items share the Refresh Grapefruit scent.

• Shampoo: washes scalp and hair gently with rich lather.
• Treatment Smooth: for normal, fine and soft hair. A light, non-sticky feel.
• Treatment Moist: for normal, thick and stiff hair. Leaves a soft, moisturized texture.
• Silky Emulsion: a leave-in treatment for finishing that uses the dryer's heat to smooth the cuticle.

GALBA | For hair bothered by damage and dryness

GALBA is a series that focuses on the CMC (cell membrane complex) inside the hair. The official site introduces it as a brand born in 2015 around CMC technology.

• CMC Care Shampoo: removes dirt while keeping moisture in the hair.
• CMC Care Treatment: balances moisture inside the hair and makes finger-combing smooth.
• CMC Care Mist: for those bothered by waves or short hairs that stick up on the surface (flyaways). A mist like a toner for hair.
• CMC Care Emulsion: a leave-in treatment worked in mainly on the ends before drying.

Mu Scalp | When scalp fluctuations bother you

Mu Scalp is a scalp brand focused on scalp changes that occur with age and busy daily life. The shampoo comes in 2 types to choose from according to the condition of your scalp. Base Care has a green herbal scent, and Focus Care a lavender herbal scent.

• Shampoo Base Care: washes gently with a dense, fine-textured lather.
• Shampoo Focus Care: a refreshing wash for an airy finish from the roots. Contains menthol.
• Treatment: controls dryness and leaves hair supple to the touch.
• Lotion: spray directly onto the scalp and work in as if massaging. Please note that it may stain clothing or towels.

ReKERA | For thinning hair and damaged hair

ReKERA is a series for hair that has become thinner (fine, weakened hair) and damaged hair.

• ReKERA EMULSION: a milk type that can be used in the bath or after the bath. Contains liquid-crystal cholesterol and 4 plant butters.
• ReKERA MIST: a mist that protects hair from the heat of curling and flat irons. Spray from about 10–15cm away.
• ReKERA OIL: a hair oil for hair bothered by lack of shine or difficulty settling.

Asian Moon | For hair bothered by UV, dryness and coarseness

Asian Moon is an orange leave-in treatment oil that protects hair from UV rays and dryness. It contains 9 natural oils plus cholesterol, 18-MEA (branched fatty acids (C12-31)), CMC-like ingredients and astaxanthin (Haematococcus pluvialis oil). The scent is herbal fruity.

• Asian Moon: spread about 1 pump (for medium hair) onto wet hair after towel-drying and work it in mainly on the ends. Do not rinse.

Which should I choose?

• Bothered by frizz and waves: ToiToiToi
• Bothered by damage or dryness: GALBA
• Concerned about your scalp: Mu Scalp
• Hair is getting thinner, or you often use a flat iron: ReKERA
• Coarse from UV or dryness: Asian Moon
